What you'll learn

This course shows recruitment professionals how to use generative AI confidently, safely, and effectively across everyday hiring work.
It focuses on real recruitment processes, real hiring tasks, and real outputs. It is practical, hands-on, and designed for immediate application in recruitment roles.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  1. Use AI safely and responsibly in line with UK and EU regulations
  1. Reduce time spent on repetitive drafting and admin tasks
  1. Improve the quality and consistency of candidate communications
  1. Analyse meetings, feedback, and sentiment more effectively
  1. Build simple recruitment agents to support scale without losing control

You will move from informal or cautious AI use to confident, capable application in recruitment, without jargon, hype, or technical complexity.

Course Structure

AI Core Skills for Recruitment is delivered as a live, half-day bootcamp with a bonus workshop / hackathon to follow. It is hands-on throughout, with live demos, guided exercises, and practical examples drawn directly from recruitment work. For those who need it, there is a 30-minute tech check a week before the main session to cover tool selection and access.

Pre-module: Tech check

The 30-minute tech check ensures you can access the right tools, understand the setup, and start the course confident that everything will work as it should. Takes place on 5 Feb at 10 - 10:30 am.

Half day bootcamp

Module 1: AI landscape, governance, and privacy

This module builds a shared foundation for safe and responsible AI use in recruitment.

You will learn:

  • How large language models work in practice
  • Where recruiters are already using AI informally, often without realising
  • Clear dos and don’ts for compliant AI use
  • Practical implications of the EU AI Act and UK regulation for recruitment
  • How transparency builds trust with candidates and stakeholders
  • How to manage redaction, bias awareness, and internal AI-use policies

The focus is on confidence, clarity, and risk awareness, not fear or complexity.

Module 2: Prompting for recruitment

This module focuses on using AI well for core recruitment tasks.

You will learn how to:

  • Structure prompts using a simple Role–Detail–Style approach
  • Draft and refine recruitment content quickly and consistently
  • Improve LinkedIn outreach and candidate messaging
  • Analyse meetings and interviews to extract insight and sentiment
  • Generate clear reports and summaries with minimal effort

You will practise live, working with realistic recruitment scenarios rather than abstract examples.

Module 3: Building recruitment agents for scale

This module introduces AI agents in a practical, grounded way.

You will learn:

  • What AI agents are and how they differ from simple prompts
  • How agents support repeatable recruitment tasks
  • How to build, test, and share simple recruitment agents
  • Example use cases such as CV review, legislation checks, or role clarity support
  • How to manage governance, access, and control as agents are used more widely

The emphasis is on sustainable value, not uncontrolled automation.

Q&A and close

The session ends with open discussion and practical troubleshooting.

You can:

  • Ask questions specific to your recruitment context
  • Sense-check use cases and approaches
  • Leave with clear next steps for embedding AI safely and effectively

Bonus workshop / hackathon

This session consolidates learning and turns skills into confident, repeatable recruitment practice. It is highly interactive and participant led. No new tools are introduced. The focus is on applying what you have already learned to real recruitment scenarios.

During the session, you will:

  • Refine and improve recruitment content and workflows
  • Translate hiring intent into clear, effective prompts
  • Identify quick wins and low-effort improvements across the recruitment process
  • You will also learn from how other recruiters apply AI in different hiring contexts.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with:

  1. At least one high-value recruitment use case ready to apply immediately
  1. Improved prompts, tools, and workflows tailored to your recruitment work
  1. Greater confidence using AI independently in recruitment beyond the course

Who it’s for

This course is for recruiters who want to change how they hire, not just keep up.

You might be working in talent acquisition, in-house recruitment, or agency recruitment. What you have in common is this: you’re ready to stop dabbling and start using AI with purpose in your hiring work.

We teach in a way that fits real recruitment workflows, and you can apply everything using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot Gemini, or Perplexity.

Recruitment is changing. You don’t have to keep up with everything, just know what matters. We’ll show you how.
